We arrived in Togo on Christmas Eve and that evening had a great time with the Gerhart family and opening presents. Rebecca and I even had a few under the tree...it was very nice of them!
This album contains pictures that we took the morning before we headed to the airport in Lome. There are also some pictures that I took in Lome as we were driving down the road.
Amanda gave us sparklers in our Christmas stockings. So, Friday night, we got them out and celebrated New Year's Eve a little early. We also had fun experimenting with photos and drawing pictures with the light.
Thursday evening, Joan led us on a guided tour/hike in the area around the Centre. She is very knowledgeable about the area and filled our heads with lots of fun facts while we walked.
Friday morning, we walked down the road to have breakfast at Hotel Royal. It was very yummy!
Rebecca, Amanda and I got up early Thursday morning so we could hike up the road to see another waterfall up close. It was right off the main road, but if we hadn't arrived early, there would likely have been some locals charging to see it.
Thursday afternoon, Christal had prepared a special Bible Study for the local group of women. This was a Christmas celebration of sorts. They all came to the Centre and we had a meal while they were there. They had prepared a skit to show how much they had learned the past year -- they really got into it, too!
